Here are the winners in the BYU-Utah football game for the past 10 years: 2009-BYU, 2008-Utah, 2007-BYU, 2006-BYU, 2005-Utah, 2004-Utah, 2003-Utah, 2002-Utah, 2001-BYU, 2000-BYU. It's exactly even (5-5). But since Bronco took over for Crowton (who was a loser overall), BYU owns the series. And Whittingham is still a loser.

Posted By: 8/12/2010 8/12/2010It will be interesting to see whether the pac-12 wanted the university of utah for anything besides a whipping boy. After all, the utoes smelled pretty bad when they were selected after a bad colorado team, and after the texas schools said no to larry scott. At least UTexas stood up for other schools in Texas. The yellow-bellied utoes didn't do the same.

Posted By: 7/21/2010Chris Hill admitted that the agreement was for the utes to "gradually" share in the Pac revenues. By the time they become an equal partner, they will be a perennial loser. What good is a couple of extra bucks when you're team becomes the equivalent of Wazzu?

Posted By: 7/21/2010The duel will end because the utes are bailing on the rivalry. It's just as well because it was a pretty one-sided rivalry in most sports. Football is not the only sport and the utes will not be able to compete with even a 3-9 Colorado team that lost to Colorado State last year. I'm glad they got invited to join another league so they won't be one of the big 3. Instead they'll be one of the 3 weaklings.

BYU Wouldn't Compete

Fans of a team that is 7-6 in the last 10 years against MIDDLE OF THE ROAD Pac 10 teams(I didn’t include the 2 L’s to USC) are running their mouths about the Utes finishing last and not competing... As for the reasons why BYU wasn’t invited, you can’t have it both ways, the ONLY reason why BYU exists is because of the church, the ONLY reason why BYU is good in sports is LDS athletes, don’t complain about why you were “left out” when that same point is why your school, athletics and fan base thrive. Furthermore, IF BYU had gone, how would they have improved in football? All the new money wouldn’t make a difference, Bronco has limited WHO he recruits and how many of those do they not get, 3%? BYU will always be a power in the non BCS landscape but would be limited in success in a BCS conference… The thought that Utah shouldn’t have left BYU is ridiculous. If you were offered 10 times more money with great advancement with another company, would you turn it down if they didn’t want a co-worker that you weren’t friends with and you both have gained from one another over the years? NO! Plain and Simple… Lastly, IF Utah does goes 6-6, they won’t look back and miss the MWC, I think the $10 mill a year increase in TV Rev, nearly double recruiting budget, revenue sharing EVERY YEAR from the BCS and in house revenue increases will probably fog up the rear view mirror.

Utah can't compete
Posted By: ioh 7/21/2010Utah is a 3rd place team at best in the Mountain West, what is going to make you think that they can compete in the Pac?? Rice-Eccles stadium is too small, Utah collects no TV revenue for 3 years, increased cost to recruit and travel... Utah is going to be bankrupt and in dire straights before the end of their second year in the PAC?. No bad feelings here, but I think the MtnWest is a much better fit for Utah. With BoiseSt in the conference, the MtnWest will effectively get an autobid to the BCS, no other nonBCS teams can compete against the MtnWest. The MtnWest just needs a team in the top 15 rankings and they are in.

Posted By: PAC-12 7/13/2010I think Utah deserves to go to the PAC-12 however, BYU deserves it more. Utah, I think will be sucsessful in the PAC. But anyone who says any other reason why BYU isn't in the PAC or some other BCS confernce besides the church,missionaries, and Sunday play is an absolute freakin' moron. Byu would have gone to a Power Conference long before the stinkin' Utes if it wasn't for wasn't for the church. Also the Utes Football team sucked untill the late 90's and the 00's.
